Jim earned his degree in Aviation Management from St. Cloud State University in 2009 and began his career that same year in Cheyenne, WY. For the next 3 years, he progressed through the Operations Department and in 2012 became the Deputy Director of that airport. While in Cheyenne, Jim was an active member of the Wyoming Airport Operator’s Association and the American Association of Airport Executives holding a Certified Member (C.M.) designation from that organization.
In April 2018, Jim became the Director at Wittman. As a Wisconsin native, he is excited to be back in the Badger state after 14 years living in both Minnesota and Wyoming. While not at the Airport, he enjoys spending time outdoors including camping, hiking and fishing with his wife Lauren. Also a former student pilot, he plans to get back into flying, earn his private pilot’s license and eventually own an aircraft.
Diana began her lifelong profession as an administrative assistant upon completion of secretarial school following a successful high school career. In 1977 Diana was a secretary for the Square-D company where she stayed until the birth of her son in 1988. In 1991 Diana joined the Wittman Regional Airport team as a part-time secretary under former Airport Director Rick Sokol. She moved through a few various posts within Winnebago County until 2003 when Ruth Elliott became the new Airport Director. At that time Diana was asked to return to her previous post as Administrative Assistant to the Airport Director due to her previous experience and strong work ethic.
Today Diana performs administrative duties for Wittman Regional Airport under the direction of Airport Director Jim Schell. She also supports the work of Pete Rausch, Operations & Maintenance Manager
Pete is a lifelong resident of Winnebago County and has dedicated the majority of his career to service at multiple departments within the county. Upon completion of vocational training in metal fabrication, hydraulic system and automotive repair, Pete began working at Advance Lifting Systems and Island Excavating. His experiences with commercial construction and manufacturing have aided him greatly throughout his tenure in both the public and private sector.
Pete began his career with Winnebago County in 1991 as a mechanic and equipment operator at the Highway Department. He also spent time working on multiple projects in the paving division of that department. Pete brought his strong work ethic to Wittman Regional Airport in 1995. For more than 20 years, Pete has worked and progressively taken on additional responsibilities at the airport, earning a promotion to his current position in 2016. Pete oversees the Operations & Maintenance Department at the Airport, being directly responsible for various capital improvement projects and the day-to-day operations of the airport.
