A Writing Contest for Oshkosh-Area Grade & High-Schoolers
When someone mentions flying, do you think about …
An interesting trip on an airliner?
A ride in a small airplane?
A career in aviation?
Building your own airplane?
The first flight you’ve yet to take?
No matter what your aviation interest, we’d like to hear your story in 500 words or less. The form is up to you, so it might be an essay, a poem, or even a personal experience story. Enter the writing contest and tell us – in your own words – what makes flying and aviation special to you.
Contest Rules: This contest is open to all students in any Oshkosh Area school. Competition is open in either of two categories – grade school (grades 3-8) or high school (grades 9-12), but not both. Each category will include a first, second and third place winner to be announced by March 1, 2012. All winning entries will be published on the Wittman Airport blog.
Grade-school entries will be judged on the basis of originality. High school entries will be judged on the basis of originality, as well as writing style and proper use of grammar. All entries should be properly spell checked.
Manuscripts must be delivered electronically to rmark@wittmanairport.com not later than 6 PM, Monday, February 6, 2012. Stories received after the deadline will not be considered.
E-mails accompanying any manuscript must include the author’s name, street address, telephone number, school name and e-mail address. The author’s name must also be printed on the first page of the story.
